Music and sound in all it's forms...
A unique composer for film, tv, multimedia, and advertising with fifteen years experience in the industry
My journey as a professional composer began in 2007 while still a grad student at Parsons School of Design at The New School. Having gotten a BA in Music from Washington University in St. Louis, I studied Design and Technology at Parsons, and was hired by my sound design professor to be a composer at his sonic branding agency Audiobrain. It was an incredible learning experience, as I was able to hone a very unique skillset: Targeting specific emotions, moods, characteristics, and concepts through music and sound. Four years later I opened Mirrortone Studios – a recording and post-production studio in Chelsea. Mirrortone has been one of the top-rated studios in New York for the last twelve years, and I’ve had the privilege of working with an incredible array of agencies, directors, artists, and actors from around the world.
As a composer I’ve written scores for feature films, documentaries, and brands like Google, Amazon, and Maserati. As a sound designer I’ve crafted the sonic characteristics of sci-fi epics and surrealist dramas for HBO, Netflix, Amazon, and Samuel Goldwyn Films. As a producer and engineer I hosted artists like Audra McDonald, Paul Schrader, Branford Marsalis, and Michael K. Williams among others. While my main instrument is guitar, I also play piano, bass, alto and tenor sax, and sitar, which I put to good use as a recording artist releasing music under both my name, as well as the moniker “Rig Veda” which combines elements of electronic, Jazz, and Hindustani music. And while writing music on my own is enjoyable, I really value the inspiration and drive that comes with working together with a tight-knit group of talented collaborators.
